The frame features square‑cut stiles, straight‑line stretchers, and rails all fashioned from solid kauri, while the shelving surfaces are clad in teak veneer boards. The original dark walnut stain—typical of the late‑1970s/early‑1980s—has been removed, revealing the kauri’s attractive grain. The piece is now finished with a hand‑polished coating that deepens the wood’s natural tone and highlights its figure, offering a clean, contemporary look while retaining its period character.
