Australian Arts Crafts Table

A striking Arts and Crafts occasional table made of solid kauri, dating from roughly 1900‑1920. Bold horizontal and vertical lines give the piece an architectural presence, while stepped elements and subtle ogee curves soften the geometry. The table reflects the Australasian interpretation of the British Arts & Crafts movement (c. 1880‑1920), emphasising honest workmanship and restrained ornamentation. Its design aligns with the period of Australia’s Federation (1901) and the emerging Australian Federation style in domestic architecture. The table is restored to retain character and with a hand polish finish that closely matches the original.
